Dribble, Dribble, Swish!

We snapped a quick picture at the top on the way out.
Kenneth Fariad had to be the highlight of the game. What an awesome player…at least when we saw him play. Steve Nash was even pretty impressive despite his little old, white dude self. I did find myself missing Carmelo Anthony though – nostalgia I guess…

A friend of the family got us some mid-court VIP seats for the Phoenix-Denver game. It’s the first time I’ve been to a basketball game and have been able to hear the players’ conversations on the court. It made for some fun banter. Regardless, Casey and I had so much fun! What a great memory we have together…basketball and nachos…

Rudolph’s Revenge

I love cookies. I love cake. I love food! Basically, I LOVE to eat therefore I run! With Christmas at my heals and my shin guards sitting lonely in my closet at home I decided Rudolph’s Revenge along the South Platte River and through Hudson Gardens was the perfect answer to enjoying great food over the holidays and getting to spend some quality time with my dad!
I was worried that running at a mile above sea level and in 19 degree weather was going to have me falling over from lack of oxygen and going the way of the popcicle. I had considered markering, “I’m one of those sea level sissies” on my shirt as a warning, but I hunkered down and found a groove instead. I finished just a few seconds slower than my Arizona time and they gave me hot chocolate at the end, where I promtly stripped down(My mom didn’t let me out of the house until she bundled me tightly so that was all shed partially through the race and just past the finish line). What a beautiful race and a wonderful day! Thanks, Dad!! I love you!

We are a Happy Family…Really
Grandma and Grandpa came over from Denver for Gracie’s baby blessing. The kids loved having them so much that when they left for the airport, Annie asked why they couldn’t stay until the next Monday and Hudson asked if they could just stay forever because that would be much better. Grandma and Grandpa were good sports. The kids loved all of the games that they played together, feeding the Lorikeets at the Wild Animal Park, going out to eat and of course, Grandma’s favorite…Pinkberry. That’s right, we completely filled up multiple stamp cards while she was here. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for sharing this special day with us!

A Name and a Blessing
Gracie received her name and a blessing this Sunday. I wish this could have been a picture of Gracie and her daddy, but he was the one manning the camera like usual(The rest of the family were out of their church clothes before I could even request a picture of us).
How wonderful it was that she was blessed the same day as a missionary homecoming. We are only beginning our journey with our baby girl as another mother is celebrating her son leaving childhood behind to become a spiritually strong adult. I know that momma was so proud of her son and happy for him to be back. It just made me hope that one day that could be me, welcoming a child home from a mission or celebrating other good choices that have been made from years of trying to be better by following Christ’s example.
Gracie, we love you and are so grateful and feel so blessed that you have come to be a part of our family.

Happy New Year!

May you have enough happiness to keep you sweet…

enough trials to keep you strong…

enough hope to keep you happy…

enough friends to give you comfort…

and enough determination to make each day… a better day than yesterday.
(Recognize it?…these aren’t my words)

Wishing you comfort, happiness and joy in the New Year!!
