Okay we have been moved in for several months and I totally forgot to blog about the house. Admittedly I have had other things on my mind lately, but better late than never, right? People keep asking me about the house. I think I will probably do it in two parts to reduce the number of pictures in the blog. Even then I got a little carried away.

So far we have been lucky that the kids haven’t tried to climb over the rail onto the ledges. Hudson does love sliding down the rail though and Annie has only tried to jump off the balcony part once. I think my scream has deterred any further attempts.

We love, love, love the house. With so much moving in my life we unpacked everything in about 72 hours and I haven’t unpacked anything since. Most things have a home, but there are still the 2 token boxes in the garage full of junk I just dumped extras into on the last day of the move. Those are always the last ones unpacked. I supposed if I have lived without them this long and they aren’t Christmas decorations I should really just chuck the box. I haven’t missed anything so far…

I know I still have Annie’s purple chair in my room, but it doesn’t fit in her’s without causing problems. It just becomes another stepping stone for disaster.

Once again I love that the vanity area offers separate areas for Will and I to keep our OWN stuff. What can I say…it keeps the marriage much happier.

Annie’s room is a little pinkified this time around, but she will only be a little girl for so long so we went with it…

It’s amazing the things one notices after taking pictures of the different rooms in a house. I usually walk into Hudson’s room and notice the mess on the train table or the floor. It wasn’t until just now I noticed one of the clocks slightly off. I can’t help offering a second thought to the huge booms and crashes I heard last week. I was assured everything was fine and under control…yeah, fine….

A couple of us headed out for a well needed Girls’ Weekend a few weeks ago. We headed up to LA for some shopping. From the Fashion District to the cute little boutiques downtown we shopped and shopped. I would say light shopping, but it actually got quite heavy. We enjoyed some fun restaurants and even better company. We stayed up late snacking and chatting. I haven’t laughed that hard for a long time! Ladies…it was a pleasure.
Thank you so much, Will! You spoil me. Thanks for taking the kids! Maren, I hope you don’t mind I stole your picture.

Spring

Oh wait, that’s not part of the song is it. Yeah, 30 would be my official age now. I have survived another decade of life and loved it! These sweet ladies as well as a few others not pictured got a little sneaky, nabbing me from my house Friday night for an evening of pedis, dinner and fun. My toes felt wonderful, and my tummy happy.

A big thanks so much for making such a fun day for me! I love you all so much and appreciate how thoughtful you all are! I couldn’t wish for better friends. Truely, thank-you.

Spring

Will and I headed to La Jolla for our date this weekend. We had a little excursion sea kayaking…and we never capsized. We went to the La Jolla caves and enjoyed a little jaunt through the kelp forest and yes…I ate some – kelp that is. We also got to see the Seven Sisters and Sunny Jim‘s caves(This one has a cool story by the way and we may extend this part of our date at a later time). By the end we paddled around 3 miles. It was a nice little workout and I wasn’t fatigued at all. Will says it was due to the fact that he was paddling so much.
We saw a massive sea lion dismembering a white sea bass. The sea gulls were all about trying to get a piece. It was quite the scuttle. All I kept hearing in my head was, “Mine….mine…mine…mine.” Oh, Nemo! The tour guide said it was the biggest sea lion he had ever seen and after having us all paddle closer; informed us that should the sea lion choose, his bite was strong enough to easily rip my arm or leg from my body. Let’s just say I stopped paddling toward him at that point. It was relaxing and so fun to surf the waves back.

Dates,
Spring,
Will
…and maybe did a little bit ‘o shopping too.

Who knew that mud slinging and fire jumping would be a good fit for me?! Amber, Brandy and I did the Warrior Dash on the 10th up in Lake Elsinore. We made a girls’ day of it. Amber was sweet enough to bring breakfast and we hit up the outlet malls with purse in hand just before the race. We found some great deals and cute things.

As for the race, we felt great afterward. I chattered the poor girls to death and for that I am sorry. At one point during the race, I was recalling an amazing black truffle cake from The Tree Room(If you are ever in Sundance, I HIGHLY recommend it!) The gal running behind us commented that she would be fine with a cup of water right now. Oops! Well, it was a short race – just over 3 miles. Thirteen obstacles were scattered throughout(wall/car jumping, cargo nets, climbing through pipes, barbed wire, etc.). We did have to go for a bit of a dip in the lake. As you can see from the picture, the race included a mud bath. Boy did we smell amazingly sweet at the end.
We stopped off and did lunch at Chili’s on the way home – talk about just what we needed. That’s right – I finished my plate. Ladies thanks for a wonderful day.
