…or maybe just one.   So my kids are a little more rough on my furniture than I would like to admit.  I have had this ottoman for a couple of years now and it is beyond trashed.  Having it has sold me 100% on NEVER buying anything microfiber again.  I don’t care what the sales people say, microfiber is wretched!!  I won’t go into the reasons, but it’s a swear word at our house.  So I tore it apart and decided to recover it.  It’s not perfect, but I figured it wasn’t bad for a first try.  It was a quick afternoon project.  I should have pulled the fabric just a bit tighter, but I was worried I was putting too much stress on the fibers.  Lesson learned.

It’s summer and anything goes.  Man, I really should needlepoint that on a pillow.  Okay, so maybe not, but can you guess what the kids and I decided to make together?  That’s right…120 truffles!  We made oreo cream cheese, dark chocolate and dark chocolate with a mint shell.  Oh my, are my taste buds happy.  Believe it or not, the kids did all of the steps except for the final shell coat.  Now that is a recipe to keep close!

Don’t ask!  I don’t know what possessed me to think that blowing the guts out of eggs sounded like a good use of my time.  Oh, but I did it anyway and quite frankly, enjoyed suspending them from my kitchen ceiling.

Hey, I think I can sew…maybe.  So here is the first item I have ever sewn in hopes that someone would actually wear it.  I made it the next size up, hoping she wouldn’t wear it until she was 5 or 6, but she saw it and wanted to wear it so I pinned it in the back and added the pink tie so it would fit better.  Just think, if the end of the world comes, I can confirm that the Blattman family will indeed evade the nudist colony for a time.  We may not end up the trendiest family, but we will all be fully clothed…that is if I could ever figure out how to make pants! – Maybe another day.

Hudson begged me to let him make leprechaun traps this year.  So FHE found the kids on the floor with pipe cleaners and other assorted goodies for trapping.  We had the traditional rainbow cake for dessert.  It looks like they came…the saw and they went.  They did leave our toilet water and milk green.  What a kind, parting gesture.
