The Week in Pictures
My nephew Daniel decided to spend his Spring Break in California with us. Boy was I tickled pink that he wanted to come to San Diego. Here are a few glimpses into our week with him. Unfortunately, our trips to In N’ Out, Pink Berry, The Zoo, Old Town and Coronado never got photos .

A Day of Rest…Kinda…

Labor Day really got me thinking this year. I know it’s dangerous. Either way, #1 why are stores so greedy that they make Labor Day into a store day instead of giving people the day off. Wasn’t this the original purpose or Labor Day…a nationwide day of rest…a Sunday if you will? And #2, I’m so grateful Will has a great job that he got to take a break from so we could be together with our family…that includes you, Bri! We know you’re behind the camera. Hiking the Torrey Pines Trails was fantastic. What kid doesn’t love an “I Spy” bingo card? What a thoughtful museum!
Don’t worry Mom, Bri doesn’t have any tattoos. He and Will got to doodling with Henna. Clearly, I’m still not giving him enough hugs. Poor guy shouldn’t have to hug himself. I guess I’m declaring this open season on hugs for Brian as well.

Breakfast on the Beach
Falling asleep to the sound of the waves lapping on the shore is my idea of camping. Digging in the sand, playing games, roasting mallows – the whole package was wonderful. In fact, we were having so much fun, we didn’t really take any pictures of the fun. Look at the pictures and picture us having lots of fun. Will did have fun shooting surfing pictures though and trying out a new lens!
The highlight of the trip had to be Hudson standing on the shoreline by himself with his arms tense, fingers clutching the air and raised above his head. That’s right, he was trying to control the waves with The Force.

The Beetles Go to the Beach
…or at least that is what it looked liked to me…Hudson and Shane’s tribute to Abbey Road? Regardless, we loved the day! The waves were AMAZING!! The beach was GORGEOUS!!

And So It Begins…
The salty breeze has weaved itself into our summer, slowly luring us to the beach. The kids have been diligent so far in doing their homework each morning, piano, etc. so we have started venturing out for some extra fun! I can feel it in the air. It’s going to be a fabulous summer!
