The Mission Basilica

Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala, now that’s a mouthful!  It’s also the 1st mission in California and the kids enjoyed it.  Friday found us wandering it’s little clay pathways and enjoying it’s beautiful garden.  We even saw a monk or two.  The church on the grounds is humble by Catholic standards, but still beautiful in an aged, quaint sort of way.  I find I always appreciate people who are devout to their religion.  Even when the religion is not my own, I appreciate a person’s pull to our Father in Heaven and the desire to grow closer to him through service and prayer.

The kids weren’t having the picture taking so poor Gracie and I ended up in all the pictures.
