Top 10 Reasons Why We Now LOVE Pennsylvania…

10.  Home of the Philly Cheese Steak.

9.  There are nearly one million licensed hunters in Pennsylvania.

8.  Whitetail deer, cottontail rabbits, squirrel, turkey, and grouse are common game species.  Don’t forget your gun, Jim.  They have squirrels!

7.  That’s where Crayola Crayons come from.

6.  The Rockville Bridge in Harris burg, Pennsylvania is the world’s longest concrete and masonry stone arch bridge.  Don’t worry, I said longest, not tallest.

5.  Chocolate…chocolate…and more chocolate…Thank-you Milton Hershey!  Women all over the world thank you.

4. It’s home to the 1st Zoo in the US and the last Naked Mole Rat(they are endangered).  Apparently, the stuffed animal variety is extinct because they were all sold out on the internet.  There’s always next Christmas.  You can’t forget the “Creatures of Habitat” exhibit that opened April 10, 2010.  Sean Kenney (one of nine world wide LEGO-certified artists!) made 9 endangered animals out of LEGOS. See Hudson will want to visit!

3.”What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs, and makes a slinkity sound?”  A spring, a spring, a marvelous thing, Everyone knows it’s Slinky…it’s Slinky, it’s Slinky, for fun it’s a wonderful toy…It’s Slinky, it’s Slinky, it’s fun for a girl and a boy.  Who knew 80 feet of wire could be so fun?!

2. Scrapple…yummy!!  (It’s known as the other gray meat) Traditionally it is a mush of pork scraps and trimmings mixed with cornmeal, flour, buckwheat and spices. The mush is formed into a semi-solid congealed loaf, and slices of the scrapple are then panfried before serving.

1.  Jim and Nancy will be there to introduce us to scrapple!  Can we come for breakfast?

*Will’s parents finally made it to their mission in Philly!*
