Wishing, Waiting and Sulking

I did a bit of sulking this year – Thanksgiving morning.  Will refused to let me do the Turkey Trot in Oceanside with Amber this year.  What happened to tradition?!  I know the answer…my belly…and yes, I’m learning how to be a more gracious coper when things don’t go my way.  But still, since we have been in San Diego we have made that little trek to pay homage to a healthy lifestyle before our gluttonous affair with pie and turkey…EVERY YEAR!

All my frustration was quickly transformed into productivity and Annie and I found ourselves baking all morning: Swedish Pancakes, homemade rolls, stuffing, yams, pumpkin pie (not from scratch, I cheated), pumpkin cookies, and yes, baklava.  We even got a pan or two of lasagna in there to freeze for when the baby gets here.  I know it sounds ridiculous…but there was a lot of frustration, which equaled lots of productivity.  Hey, and I can get my Christmas goodies out of the house and delivered before the arrival of our baby.  In all honesty,  I love and appreciate Will standing strong and forcing me to stay home.  He always has my best interest in mind, even when I don’t.  I love you, Will!
