Maybe I need a bigger ball…or NOT!

Hudson is officially done with school!  This is my first experience with summer vacation as a parent.  Before this it was always summer vacation.  I’m making it official by blogging about it hoping that shame or public humiliation will keep me on track.  I’m setting up a schedule for the kids to keep them occupado this summer.  I’m hoping for some learning…maybe a sprinkle of reading, writing, math and science as well as a healthy dose of fun.  Once upon a time I was VERY good and efficient.  Not only was I able to stay on the ball, but there would be occasional parlor tricks and antics just to prove to myself I wasn’t getting boring.  Most days now find me bumping my way down the hill, with the ball squishing me flat over me over and over and over again.  Can you picture it?  I’m quite the dirty sight covered in mud with little, leafed twigs in my hair.  My goal this summer is to gather no moss and attempt to get back on the ball.  Here is to a mossless summer.  Yes, I considered a bigger ball, but then decided getting run over with it would just hurt more.

I am in the midst of struggling with summer. I really appreciate the structure that school gives our family. So I need to get on the ball as well and come up with some semblance of a summer schedule. Otherwise my teenagers sleep in til noon and the little ones drive me crazy BY noon! haha
You seem to have lots of great, fun ideas to keep your kids busy. :) Hope you have a great summer!

That definitely wasn’t my best soccer day…although I do have a few great bruises.
