A Sand-Sational Time

Filed in Beach, family, Summer

Yes, Will took these pictures.  Yes, those are my feet…I’m well aware they look like Vienna Sausages.

We took the kids beach camping for the first time this weekend.  We headed up to Camp Pendleton with some friends.  Roasting marshmallows and making dough boys were just the beginning of it all.  Besides, time is always better spent in the company of family and good friends.  And for the record I constructed and deconstructed the tent all by myself.  I just had to make sure I can still be organized and efficient if needs be.

The kids went crazy in the water…both ocean and shower.   The tide did come up around the fire pit at one point and gave us all a nice feet washing.  Some of the little kids got more of a foamy bath.

    So this may be a lame question… but what’s a dough-boy?

They are kind of like monkey bread. You wrap pillsbury dough around your skewer, cook it over the fire, then dip it in butter and roll it in cinnamon and sugar:)

All I can think of is C.H.I.P.S. when I see you in your shades Jessica. All you need is a big, black, fuzzy mustache:)

I was wondering what a dough-boy was as well. It sounds yummy. btw-not many southern folk know what a s’more is. We have had the pleasure of introducing them to several friends down here.
