All a Flutter

imh_6470I went with a friend and her girls to the Wild Animal Park this last week to see the butterflies before the exhibit left.  We thoroughly enjoyed the park.  Honestly, the butterflies weren’t impressive, but hey, to each his own.  We did find plenty of other things that got the troops talking.

We couldn’t pass up the chance to see the Lorikeets.  Hudson and Annie have finally gotten the hang of feeding them.  I think the birds are still just a bit too heavy for Annie to be able to hold.imh_6489The petting pen was quite the hit with the kids this time around.  imh_6505

Annie was definitely not a fan of having her hands dirty.  Then again, at home she is almost constantly washing her hands.

imh_6528We did take a bit of a detour this time around to see the Condors and Sumatran Tiger.  We were hoping to tire the kids out with a little bit of an off road hike.  I actually think it might have had the opposite effect, but the suspensions bridges were fun nonetheless.  Hudson was obviously feeling a little daring.

With the arrival of Spring, many new little ones have been born in the park.  I think we must have sat and watched the elephants for almost 20 minutes.

imh_6508Toward the end we found the turtle shells and Hudson just couldn’t resist – still as happy as ever!imh_6507Somedays I wonder if this is his favorite part of the park.
