A Rose By Any Other NameApril 29th, 2009 @ 12:33 pm
I’ve had a few people in the last few months ask me if there are any flowers in bloom in San Diego right now. The flowers above are actually quite large. I could practically wear the petals as a hat. Honestly, there are flowers blooming here all year round, but it is the smell of the flowers that is intoxicating. We have some Wisteria that arches over the entryway by our front door that is wonderful(I forgot to snag a pictures…it’s very purply).
I’m not for sure, but we seem to have some variety of Plumeria that catches on the breeze as well.
I actually have no idea what any of the pictured flowers are named. I just took the pictures because I thought they were beautiful. Every once and awhile I find myself taking pictures of random things, because I’m hoping to prolong the memory-keeping it vivid. What’s a better memory of Spring, than a sweet smelling flower.
I must admit that I am not a huge fan of roses, this one struck my fancy a little while back. I think it was the way it seemed to glow in the light.
