A Night at the Opera
Will and I attended the opera last night to see Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto. I haven’t been for quite some time and Will has never had the experience so I surprised him with tickets. I got balcony seats thinking that if he didn’t like it I wouldn’t have wasted hundreds of dollars. I thought I bought for the front of the balcony, but of course I wasn’t paying attention when I looked at the diagram and accidentally bought the farthest back tickets instead. Talk about a classic Jessica move. Will joked that he forgot his baseball glove. Several times he suggested that the vendors should be selling hotdogs over champagne. Note to self: balcony tickets stink(In my defense, I’ve never sat in the balcony before).
I digress, anyway, the opera was fabulous. They had a fantastic set of singers cast, hailing from several international locations, which was so fun! The orchestra was amazing. Will was kind enough to rent binoculars for me, which helped. We forgot the camera so here is the after picture. Will doesn’t look too tired, does he?

Thanks for trying to sophisticate “the boy” a little—I call him “the boy” the way he calls his son “the boy”.

April 9th, 2009 at 12:28 pmoh my heck you dragged him to the Opera. He must truely love you. Sorry my sister did that to you Will! lol
April 9th, 2009 at 4:58 pmI’m glad you enjoyed it, even if your seats were in the boonies
. And how sweet of Will to rent the binoculars so you could get the most enjoyment out of the evening
. Looks like a special night
. And you looked lovely!
April 9th, 2009 at 9:42 pmI just wish I could see your dress a little better – it looks crazy cute! I’ve never been to the opera – I used to love going to the symphony until I started falling asleep every time…
April 9th, 2009 at 10:03 pmFunny, we went to the symphony last month. We sat in the front row. We stared straight up at the conductor and noticed how lazy the last row of violins seemed. Also you can tell if they are well groomed or not. Kim’s neck was sore the next day.
April 10th, 2009 at 2:24 pm@ Dan, Maybe somewhere between the first and last row might be nice…the Dress Circle maybe?
April 10th, 2009 at 5:58 pm@ Michelle, I updated, just for you:)
