This One’s For You, Papa!
Hudson pulls me into the living room yesterday and shows me a comb sitting on a block. He cocks his head sideways and looks up at me saying, “Mom, do you know what this is?” I tell him that it’s a comb and he shakes his head at me.
“Mom, it’s a lever! Look!” He places another block carefully on top of the comb then launches it across the room.
Then this morning he wanders into my room and asks, “Mom do you think you could help me make a pulley?” He then proceeds to draw how he wants to build it in the air with his finger. I kind of just stared at him. Annie then tugs on my robe and looks up and with a very informing tone and says, “Pulley Mom, Hudson’s Pulley.”
I’m chalking these comments up to the fact that his father is an engineer and Papa (one of his grandpa’s) is an AP Physic teacher…it must be in the genes.

What a smart kid! It sounds like you have another engineer in the family.

How in the world does a 4 year old know what a lever and a pulley are!!! Smart genes!

Wow… I think I would have to describe a pulley until someone told me what the name was, I forget such things. Hudson is a smart cookie.

Not to mention that his mom is a smarty too!
