Can today be Friday instead?

imh_4333

Hudson approaches me today and asks if he can play Rock Band. I tell him no because it is Sunday and no because he is too little.  We are actually thinking we are going to return it anyway because it takes up too much room. What do you do with a drum set in a house our size?

He then says, “Well can’t today just be Friday instead?”  Of course I stiffled a chuckle and told him the days of the week were solid.

“But we can just pretend it is Friday, Mommy,” he replies.

 ”No, Hudson.”

Hudson then tells me, “But Mom, I think Friday is much stronger than Sunday.”  I’m not quite sure what he meant by the comment and the flexed-muscle pose that accompanied his words, but my decision stands.

Hudson, I love you, but NO it cannot be Friday!

I’m very impressed with Hudson’s problem solving skills. If today doesn’t work for you, just change it! I’ve got to admit I’ve wanted to do that on several occasions.

Love it! Very clever. And sure, why not? Aren’t Fridays good days ;) ? Not that Sundays aren’t…

Just wait until I come out with my new game for Rockband called, “favorite primary tunes, and more” then it’s decision time – I’ll update it every year and make millions :)

His negotiations are getting better, but I do agree, the days of the week are pretty solid!!

Jon checks out your blog every couple of days. He can’t get enough Hudson-isms. Ha! Thanks for the Sabbath Day reminder!

Haha, that is precious. I remember my little brother (knowing we were allowed to play together in the backyard but not with friends in the front yard on SUndays) telling one of his little friends once “sorry I can’t play, it is Sunday in the front yard.”
